After raising beef cattle for 10 years, we transitioned our farm into raising Hair Sheep purchasing our starter flock in 2003. With the assistance of Mr. Morgan and the Katahdin Association, we have come a long way with our Farm Production!
We now are raising a low maintenance, pasture grazed and pastured lambed flock.
Our goals have focused on raising a parasite resistant flock with strong maternal instincts which are characteristics of the Katahdin Breed. We do this by rotating our flock often onto clean pasture. We have not had to worm in three years and have not lost any animals to parasites. We select ewes for strong maternal traits who exhibit good mothering abilities and unassisted lambing.
For 2008, we began lambing in January and anticipate well over 100 lambs this season. For Breeding sale, we select only those lambs that exhibit the best traits of the Katahdin Breed. The remainder are sold as market lambs. We are constantly striving to improve the quality of our flock.
We try and focus on keeping this fun and rewarding! There is nothing like watching your flock develop into magnificent animals!

Our farm is located in the foothills of Polk County, North Carolina, on 65 acres of rolling hills. We have four guard donkeys that keep predators at bay. We have been trained in the FAMACHA Parasite Control Program and are enrolled in the Voluntary Scrapie Flock Certification program.
Thank you for your interest in our farm!
